We would like to introduce the double-width gantry plate. we received many inquiries about this product recently. While it can be used for any axis in a CNC or other motion systems, most OpenBuilds projects are utilizing it as a Z-axis for two key reasons:
- The longer gantry plate features 2 columns x 4 rows of wheels, which provides superior support for heavier spindles.
- The plate comes with pre-drilled holes specifically designed to accommodate OpenBuilds spindle mounting plates.

We have also made several updates:

- Updated the motor coupler: We are now using a plum-shaped (jaw) shaft coupling. Here is the link: https://diycnc.ca/product/plum-shaped-shaft-coupler/
- Added a T8 knob: This is quite useful for moving the spindle manually when the power is off.
The kit also includes the Nema 23 stepper motor and driver as standard parts, which ensures that the motor, coupler, and mount brackets are a perfect match. After our testing, the 2.2Nm–2.3Nm of torque from the stepper motors can handle most spindles, including those weighing 4–5 kg.
We have kits in stock (kits only, no parts :)) and can ship within 3–5 days. Since OpenBuilds projects are highly customizable, there are many custom design out there. I'll provide all the details you need regarding our kit to see if it is compatible with yours.

Is the anti backslash nut plastic? I used this kind of nut but bad soon, is there a better nut?
It is ABS POM material by default and in stock, but we also ordered CNC machined metal nuts. However, we have never used the metal nuts and don't know how well they work.
